The Holly Heilman Cancer Fund is a non-profit organization created by the family of and inspired by a special young woman, Holly Heilman, who lost a brave battle to cancer.
The cancer fund began in Holly's memory to help cancer patients and their families lighten some of their financial burdens.
Until there is a cure, we will help those in need.
Welcome!
This fund is all about rasising money for cancer patients and their immediate families, not cancer research. The donations are used to help pay for utility bills, food, gas, doctor bills, prescriptions, etc. (Example: If a person falls behind with their electric bill because their spouse needed time away from work to care for their loved one, we're here to help.)
Holly (Painter) Heilman Cancer Fund was named after our sister who died of breast cancer at the early age of 38, leaving behind a 4 year old daughter and husband. While Holly was in the hospital, she came to know the nurses very well. They had a jar with spare change in it and they called it "The Penny Fund". The Penny Fund was for the patients. People would put their spare change in a jar and if a patient needed something, the nurses would take it out of this fund. Holly loved this idea. She was happy that money was going to the patients' personal comfort and spoke very highly of the generosity of the nurses and donors. She was grateful for this fund and so were many others. When Holly passed away, it inspired us to start her "Penny Fund". We have been helping cancer patients and hope to continue for a long time. Our goal is to raise money through fundraisers and to help as many cancer patients as we can! Please help us so we may help others.
Our family knows the pain and financial burden that this horrible disease can cause. Since Holly left us, we have experienced two additional losses in our family due to cancer. We are driven to help others and can succeed with your help.
